Kah Yan began violin lessons at the age of 4. She has been actively participating in various music festival and competitions, both at local and international level.

Kah Yan is the winner of the Siam Sinfonietta Concerto Prize of the Euroasia String Competition 2024, as well as 2nd place winner for Young Artist for in both 2024 and 2023. She is also the 1st place winner for Young Artist Junior in both 2021 and 2022. Besides, she has also won multiple international awards at the GFS Singapore Festival, Singapore Raffles International Music Festival, Osaka International Music Competition, Vienna Virtuoso Festival, Cheer Taiwan International Music Competition etc.  She is the Concert Master of the Euroasia Sinfonia, and a soloist and first violin for Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

Under the support of Euroasia Association of Performing Arts, Kah Yan has performed as a violin soloist with Euroasia Sinfonia and The Oundle School Exchange. In 2025, as the winner of the Siam Sinfonietta Concerto Prize, Kah Yan has the privilege to perform as a violin soloist with the Siam Sinfonietta under the baton of Maestro Somtow Sucharitkul. Kah Yan also performed as a violin soloist with the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

Kah Yan attended various masterclasses for violin learning, including with worldclass violinist Ning Feng, Grammy winning violinist Charles Yang, American violinist Nancy Zhou, internationally renowned Baroque violinist Rachel Podger , American violinist Dr Young Shih-Hung of The Juilliard School, Professor Min Yen Chien of Taipei National University of the Arts, Professor Nanette Chen of National Taiwan Normal University, Mr. Yin Ke from Singapore, MPO violinist Mr. Tan Ka Ming, and others.

Next, Kah Yan is looking forward to expanding her violin learning journey abroad. She aspires to be a violinist, performing with orchestras around the world, sharing her music with everyone.
