Sinjo Yap (b.2009) is a Malaysian cellist currently training under Prof. István Várdai at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. She was admitted at the age of 12—making her the youngest Malaysian ever accepted to the institution.
In 2023 and 2024, she performed at the student concerts of the Cello Akademie Rutesheim Festival and has worked with renowned cellists such as Marc Coppey, Jakob Spahn, Attila Pasztor, Julie Dessureault and Dylan Lee. Her musical growth is further shaped by collaborations with Ellie Solha Won, Vivian Sun, Florent Audibert, Bruno Ventocilla, and Atanas.
She is a prizewinner at numerous international competitions, including:
