Originally from Malaysia and currently based in Germany, Yan Xing currently studies with Prof. Thomas Klug at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen (University of the Arts Bremen). She is a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship and more recently the JanuszKorczak Stipendium scholarship, awarded to outstanding students in their final semester.

In 2023, she was invited by the Cheltenham Music Festival Society to give her UK recital debut at Pittville Pump Room. She has also won prizes in national and international competitions, including the 2nd Prize of the Concerto Category at the Vienna Virtuoso Festival International Music Competition 2023, with an invitation to perform in Berlin; the Patron Prize at the Euroasia Strings Competition 2018, where she was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Festival de Musique des Arcs 2019 Music Festival in France; and First Place in the Malaysian Preliminary Rounds of the Singapore Raffles International Music Festival 2016 and the Elite Award in the finals.

In addition, Yan Xing has participated in masterclasses of renowned artists such as Prof. Christoph Poppen, Prof. Ingolf Turban, Prof. Itzhak Rashkovsky, David Frühwirth, and Bartosz Woroch; as well as chamber music workshop with Armida Quartet, with further inspiration from Prof. Tanja Tetzlaff.

Alongside her solo and chamber music performances, she has performed as a substitute musician with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Oldenburgisches Staatsorchester, the Bremer Kammersinfonie, and the Klassische Philharmonie NordWest. She also scored Distinction in her ACTL (Associate) and LCTL (Licentiate) Trinity College Londonexaminations in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Outside of performance, Yan Xing has worked as a scriptwriter for Inside The Score, a YouTube channel dedicated to classical and film music with over 100 videos published, amassing more than 18 million views and currently reaching 370,000 subscribers.

Yan Xing currently plays a 1705 Carlo Tononi/Marchi violin.
