Born in 2003, Kwan Yee Lim began piano studies at age five, quickly progressing to competitive performance on stage by age seven. Her artistry has been recognized internationally, earning awards in competitions across England, the United States, Canada, China, Finland, Italy, Ireland, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Among her most significant recent achievements are the St. Columb’s Hall Concerto Award 2025 in Northern Ireland and Third Prize in Ireland’s prestigious Freemasons Young Musician of the Year 2025 competition.

Alongside her solo pursuits, Kwan Yee has shown a deep passion for chamber music and collaborative performance. Since 2017, she has been actively involved in chamber ensembles and orchestral performances. In 2018, she made her concerto debut at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall, performing Medtner Piano Concerto No. 1 under the baton of Maestro Naohisa Furusawa. The following year, she performed Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1.

Kwan Yee remains actively engaged as both a soloist and chamber musician. She recently made her European solo recital debut at the Franz Liszt Memorial Hall in Budapest, performed Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.1 in Northern Ireland, and gave her Italian debut with a solo recital at the Civico Museo Medievale di via Manzoni in Bologna. Upcoming engagements include a solo recital at the Auditorio Manuel de Falla in Granada and solo and concerto performances at the “Claudio Monteverdi” Conservatory of Bolzano, Italy. She is also involved in a new collaborative project featuring song and poetry with musicians from the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Juilliard School.

She has participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Armen Babakhanian, François Dumont, Philip Fowke, Murray McLachlan, and Anthony Hewitt.

After earning her undergraduate degree with First-Class Honours in 2024, she is now pursuing postgraduate studies under Professor Thérèse Fahy at the Royal Irish Academy of Music on a full scholarship.
