Maxy Chan exudes innate joy, sensitivity, and expressive musicality and virtuosity in her performances. Beginning piano lessons with classical training, she crossed over to
contemporary genres at age of 16 and started sharing her performances on her YouTube channel @maxychan.
She was the first Malaysian to clinch gold awards at the 2013 Asia Piano Competition in Taiwan and 2014 Asia Music Competition in South Korea. From 2013 to 2019, she organized and performed in concerts and music festivals across Malaysia, spanning Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Melaka, Johor Bahru, and Kota Kinabalu.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Classical Music (Hons.) from UCSI University in 2019, she continues to play her favourite genres passionately—movie soundtracks, modern piano pieces, new age, and contemporary classical—specialising in emotive storytelling in her performances. In 2022-2024, she joined Kawai Malaysia as their artist and ambassador, and performed in video shoots and live events. She also served as an adjudication panellist at the Asia Pacific International Arts Festival in 2023-2024.
