Ethan Lim Fang Yue, 10 years old, born and raised in Selangor, Malaysia. Ethan began his music studies at the age of 4, under Yamaha Junior Music Course. At the age of 6, he passed through the audition and got into the JSAC (Junior Special Advanced Course) in Yamaha. Ethan started to play piano & electone at the age of 4 and violin at the age of 6. His piano studies are currently under the tutelage of Ms Akiko Danis.

Most recently, Ethan has won the 2nd Prize in the Grand Final of the Malaysia Piano Competition 2023, Age 9-10 Advanced Group and a finalist in the Euroasia Strings Competition 2023. Hence, he’s entitled to attend a Masterclass session with Mr Loo Bang Hean.  Ethan just won 1st Prize in his School’s Whizz-Kidz Grand Final Melody Masters 2023. Ethan won top prizes in many competitions including London Young Musician of the Year 2023 – Winner of Violinist – Pianist of the Year Award; twice gold prize winner for the E-Artium Piano Competition 2023 & 2022, and was awarded the special prize E-Artium Award; selected to be featured in the ABRSM Global High Scorers’ Concert 2022 for both Piano and Violin for scoring distinction in the exam; 1st prize for the 2022 Shanghai International String Competition and many other awards in the past years.

Ethan not only active in classical music, he explored composing. He composed his very first composition at 6 years old titled ‘Spiderman Odyssey’. At the tender age of 7, his music composition “Bali Island” was selected to represent Malaysia at the Yamaha International 50th Anniversary Junior Original Concert 2021, Japan. 

Ethan intuitively loves music, his versatility in handling a wide range of music is attributed to his exceptional musical capability and perfect pitch. He possesses both abilities of performing skills and music creativity skills.
