Since 2013 Euroasia has organized competitions to celebrate and identify young talent at various stages of their musical development on various instruments. These events provide an invaluable platform for young musicians to perform and compete at a high level, giving them experience and exposure that will better equip them for future undertakings in their musical journey.

With the aim of instigating music making of the highest level at various parts of Malaysia, the inaugural Piano Festival was introduced in Kuching, Sarawak in 2016 – directed by one of Malaysia’s most reputable performers and educators – Loo Bang Hean. The success of the first festival encouraged us to follow on with two new regions in 2017: Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur, in partnership with two dynamic organisations, the Johor Society for the Performing Arts and the Malaysian Youth Orchestra Foundation. The response for the piano festivals were most encouraging and has propelled us to follow with three more venues in 2018 – Penang, Kuantan and Negeri Sembilan.

The first partnership between Euroasia and the MYOF in 2017 was a move forward to encourage collaboration between organisations with similar objectives – to provide more music students with performance opportunities as well as to improve performing standards. In our effort to encourage higher standards in performing skills, and to recognize the achievements of winning participants in the various regions, the national-level Malaysian Piano Competition was established in 2018.
