The Seremban Cello Quartet started off in 2014 as casual post-lesson sessions for Jonathan Oh and three of his pupils – Goh Wen Chih, Annie Leong Yu Xuan and Joel Chew Yee Song – originally to practice and rehearse various chamber music for cello ensemble. The group was established formally when the Quartet received an invitation to perform at the Raffles International Music Festival in Singapore in 2014, and their performance of Leonard Yeap’s arrangement of Tanah Pusaka during Arioso Sinfonia’s Concert Tour to Italy in November 2014 received ovations and acclaim. Encouraged by this exceedingly positive response, the Quartet has decided to bring the performance up to another level, and are currently planning for their first solo concert.
